Born in Indonesia, the subject of this biography is a renowned poet, essayist, and translator.

After completing his education at the University of Gadjah Mada in Yogyakarta, he earned a degree in English translation. Since 1974, he has been an esteemed faculty member in the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Indonesia, where he served as its dean for a period of time.

Literary Accomplishments

The writer's debut collection of poems was published in 1969, and by 2008, a total of eight poetry anthologies had been released in Indonesia.
